That's right: Nokia finally got off its lazy butt and revamped the Nokia USA site to look more like the Euro sites. I'm still not a fan of those funky green tabs, but it's a heck of a lot better than the previous incarnation which could've handily won the Most Boring Web Site Competition.
More randomness inside.
The Nokia 6310i: an iconic breakthrough of a cell phone.
The Nokia 6310i: an iconic breakthrough of a cell phone. Okay, yeah, I owned one.
Of some note is the Nokia for Business Poll section - I don't remember seeing this anywhere before, but the most recent poll posed the question "Which Nokia Eseries device interests you most?"
The survey results were:
40% E90 Communicator
20% E50 Phone
20% E61i
20% E65
The second question was a little kooky: "Do you have a Nokia 6310i and would you be interested in replacing it with Nokia E50?"
And of that, 49% said, "YES, I HAVE A NOKIA 6310I BUT I'M NOT INTERESTED IN THE NOKIA E50." Wow, that's just a little hard to believe. I don't mean the "not interested in the Nokia E50" part, but more the percentage of people claiming they owned a 6310i.
Don't know what a 6310i is? It is considered, at least by me, one of the greatest phones ever made by Nokia. A phone that was way ahead of its time.
Finally, after navigating the "upcoming phones" section of the web site, I'm bitterly disappointed in that tiny scrollbar which is sadly the only way to scroll through the phones. I'm even more disappointed in the fact that it took me almost 30 seconds to figure that out.
